Four images with the blue planet

Some time ago i had to create an animation for a client showing out Earth and a satellite. I uploaded four grabs from it. Have a look...

Uploaded a new 3D animation. It's a particle animation of two light streaks, depicting fire and ice. Enjoy!

Tool update: SFL Maya and Maya Collection

For a current character animation project i have to negate lots of keyable attributes in Maya. Changing each value manually, one after the other takes way too much time. Selecting all attributes that need to be changed and using the "*=-1" trick is much faster. But while typing you can make failures and have to undo your actions and type again. This also takes time. And one thing i definitely don't have is "time". So i quickly extended my scripts with a little negation function.
The function is now built in my scripts collection.

The updated versions of the script and the plugin can be found here:

Newspaper article

I just found a newspaper article via Google with me. The article is from last year and was published in a regional newspaper. It's funny to unexpectedly come across articles about your own work ;)

Lighting and rendering test

Nothing fancy, but i really like it. I built and tried some lighting and rendering setups. My main goal was to achieve a convincing look concerning the materials and the light. I think i got something that does so...

I used Maya with Mentalray and Photoshop to create it.
