A tattoo is a piece of art that lasts forever. It is a symbol for an experience in someones life. This can be nice or sad happenings. By now I want to get a tattoo since nearly 8 years. Now is a great moment for me to go out and get one. In this turn i designed a graphic that is intended to be my new tattoo.
The basis of the design process was the SFL alien and a dragon. I created the dragon so that it follows the contours of the alien. Another aim was to depict the initial of my first name "S" with the shape of the dragon. The dragon should also express a sort of fighting spirit while the direction of its movement is straight forward.
The alien itself stands for me as SFL. The intention of merging the shape of the alien and the dragon is to show that there are things in my life that have to be fought. Those things are part of my life if i want or not. To prevent myself from being destroyed by bad situations, happenings, diseases and so on, i fight those straight forward. All those semiotic issues led to those images.
