Library Flight

Description:
A video DVD opener
Information:
This animation was made for a video DVD opening sequence while i was working for a company. The mood had to be mystical and the aim was to create a camera flight through an empty medieval library ending up with a close-up of a book page that lays on a table. The book had to open itself magically while the camera moves towards it. The page that was opened last should then serve as the DVDs main menu. The book text font had to be myterious and only the DVD menu items should appear in latin characters.

One colleague made the outline of the library and the base walls, another one built the prototype of the book racks. I finalized it and modelled everything else. After that i filled the empty library with hundreds of the final book racks, the tables, the chairs, the lamps and the book carriages. For me it was very important that every objects placement is unique. To achieve that i prepared the first lamp to be perfectly animateble before i duplicated it. After that all objects were placed and oriented by a script of mine.

At the end of the whole production process it was my turn to make the final color correction.
